Don’t Let Yourself Suffer Because Eating the Wrong Way

October 25, 2022 · In: Prevent Sickness

Modern life with a variety of fast food, canned; a range of pre  -prepared diet plans to keep fit; Home delivery services make our lives much more convenient, but pose more health risks. If in the past, poet Xuan Dieu once said “people suffer because love is not the way”, then today, we will suffer because… eating is not the way. Let  ‘s take a look at the common wrong eating habits and  make a plan to change it today.

1. Often eat out or order food online

Although convenient, restaurant meals (especially fast food) are often less healthy than home-cooked food. To ensure attractive colors and eye-catching glossy appearance, during processing, chefs often add a lot of grease, additives and colorants. In addition, to optimize costs, it will be difficult for restaurants to choose fresh and high-quality ingredients like you buy and cook at home.

It’s a good idea to switch meals on the weekend to discover delicious food, but don’t let our lifestyle become too dependent on cooked food ordered from outside.

2. Improper storage and cooking

Busy life makes women gradually lose the habit of going to the market every day and switch to buying weekly fridge storage. Although convenient, raw and cooked foods in the refrigerator, if not stored properly, are prone to cross-contamination, becoming a “double-edged sword” that harms your health. Leftover food left in the refrigerator for a long time is also attacked by bacteria and forms nitrite compounds. Notably, a small amount of nitrite only 0.2 – 0.5g is enough to cause poisoning. Therefore, if you regularly cook a lot and eat leftovers in the refrigerator, you may be prone to problems related to food poisoning , stomach diseases and even liver cancer.

Besides, you should also limit the use of unhealthy processing methods such as salty cooking, over-marinating, using a lot of fat, frying, over-baking. It’s best to buy the right amount of food, cook and eat it all within a day. In case of not eating all, store leftovers in a container that meets food hygiene and safety standards, and use them up the next day.

3. Diet high in sugar, salt and fat

If you often feel heavy or have trouble sleeping at night, check your diet today. A diet high in sugar, fat, and low in fiber from vegetables often makes your stomach take longer to digest, leading to symptoms of bloating, indigestion, and poor sleep.

And yet, the snacks that you sip in your spare time are often industrially processed at high temperatures, so they contain trans fats and more salt and sugar than usual. According to experts of the British Heart Foundation, if you eat a pack of potato chips every day, your body will absorb up to 5 liters of oil a year!

As a result, you are at risk of obesity and diabetes, kidney disease, and heart disease if you regularly associate with these delicious snacks. Whenever you have a craving for snacks, instead of looking for familiar snacks and chips, replace them with more nutritious and healthier nuts such as walnuts, cashews, almonds, etc. ..

4. Irregular eating

The last point that few people pay attention to is establishing a regular eating routine at a fixed time of the day. If you often rush to work while eating bread, or work through lunch, your stomach will surely bear the consequences. Ideally, breakfast should be enjoyed within 30 minutes – 1 hour of waking up.

With lunch, you should enjoy it about 3-4 hours after breakfast. You can have a snack 3 hours after lunch if you feel hungry.

The last meal of the day should be finished before 7 pm to avoid obesity due to fat accumulation at night and to give the digestive system time to rest before going to sleep.

Whatever time you choose to eat, try to maintain a regular schedule. Most importantly, listen to your body, never let your stomach get too hungry or too full.˜
