1.1 Weight loss

Sudden weight loss in a short period of time without any  dietary or stress causes can be one of the first signs of lung, stomach, esophageal or pancreatic cancer. Accordingly, the cause of weight loss is due to an abnormal gastrointestinal tract or a whole body disorder caused by cancer. So, if you have these signs, you should go to the hospital to check your health.

1.2 Fever

Prolonged fever with sweating during a certain time of day is one of the signs of cancer. More specifically, lymphoma or blood cancer can be febrile in its early stages. Fever is also common in patients with cancer that has spread or is receiving therapies that affect the immune system.

1.3 Abnormal bleeding

This phenomenon appears in many locations with different forms. For example: vaginal bleeding after sex or after menopause can be a sign of cervical cancer, bloody urination. In addition, lung cancer has bleeding symptoms accompanied by abnormal body manifestations such as bloody sputum, persistent cough and severe chest pain.

1.4 Pain and fatigue

According to the mechanism of action, cancer tumors grow and metastasize thanks to nutrients from the body, causing cancer patients to feel pain throughout the body. In addition, some cancers such as stomach and colorectal appear to cause gradual blood loss that we cannot see, which leads to signs of body aches and fatigue.

1.5 Persistent cough

Cough persisting for 2-4 weeks without improvement or accompanied by shortness of breath, coughing up blood is a sign of lung cancer. Prolonged hoarseness caused by damage to the vocal cords can be a sign of thyroid or larynx cancer.

1.6. Unusual skin changes

Some unusual signs on the skin such as color change, appearance of moles, erythema… Specifically, skin condition is yellow, itchy, red rash warning cancer of liver, kidney, ovary or lymph node. Or people with moles that have a rough surface, uneven color, fast growth with bleeding are also at risk of skin cancer.

1.7 Digestive system changes

Cancer of the mouth, nasopharynx, and tongue makes it difficult for patients to swallow for 2-3 weeks. In addition, gastrointestinal cancer also causes abdominal pain accompanied by weight loss, weakness, bloody stools, and a noticeable tumor in the abdomen.

Especially slow-growing cancers like carcinoid tumors can take years to detect. Therefore, you should not be subjective when the digestive system has abnormal problems, instead, you need to visit a doctor to ensure health.

1.8 Night sweats

Another warning sign of cancer is frequent night sweats. This sign can come from liver cancer, blood, or more commonly lymphoma. This is a form of cancer that forms and develops in the lymphatic system, metastasizes throughout the body, affecting the patient’s immune system.

1.9 Problems with urinating

Cancerous tumors in the intestines, prostate, bladder can affect the digestive system, leading to changes in the patient’s urination and defecation habits. Accordingly, patients will have urination disorders (painful urination, frequent urination …), or bowel disorders (constipation, diarrhea…). In addition, prostate cancer in men causes nocturia, leakage, difficulty urinating, and painful urination. Or bladder cancer with signs of blood in the urine.

1.10 Swollen or lumpy, swollen lymph nodes

Cancer occurs when a tumor forms due to excessive abnormal growth of cells, then metastasizes to the lymph nodes of the surrounding organs. Therefore, the condition of lumps and lymph nodes appearing anywhere on the body can also be a sign of cancer.

2. How to prevent cancer

When you notice the above symptoms, you should go to the hospital as soon as possible. Besides, to prevent cancer, you need to build a healthy lifestyle with nutrition and exercise. Listening to the body, detecting abnormal cancer manifestations is also very necessary. More importantly, you should have  regular health checkups 1-2 times a year,  cancer screening to detect and treat cancer in time.
